These brain skills are called our executive function skills. They influence our self-discipline, our abilty to focus, our sociability, and even our confidence and love of work.

Executive Function

skill-building has been part of the Montessori way for over 100 years.

We help Montessori schools measure and communicate their success at building these critical cognitive skills.

Families are learning about childhood executive function (EF) skills: the cognitive skills for focus, self-control, decision-making, and social development. Many of them are also learning there is no better place to build EF skills than at a Montessori school. We have partnered with the National Center for Montessori in the Public Sector to help Montessori schools measure EF growth and communicate with families.

The MEFS enables Montessori schools to measure growth in executive function skills alongside the process of normalization and helps them empower parents to build these skills at home.
